The Courier Guy, built into ERPNext
Live courier rates, automatic waybills and tracking from inside ERPNext, and live rates at Shopify checkout.
The challenge
Courier bookings, waybills and tracking were done by hand on a separate website, and the online shop couldn't quote real shipping costs at checkout.
What we built
- Live rates on Quotations and Delivery Notes
- A shipment is booked automatically when a Delivery Note is submitted, and cancelled if it is cancelled
- Tracking updates every 15 minutes, kept as a history
- Signed PDF waybills in one click
- Live rates at Shopify checkout
- A circuit breaker that pauses calls after repeated failures, plus a full audit log
How it works
The ERPNext app books and tracks shipments through Shiplogic, the platform behind The Courier Guy. A small Cloudflare Worker answers Shopify's checkout rate requests. Tracking numbers pass to the Shopify connector through shared fields, so the two apps work together without depending on each other.
