Skillteq referrals: rewards for real activity
A referral programme built into the app and the portal. Anyone can refer, and rewards are paid for completed jobs, not clicks or sign-ups.
The challenge
Referral schemes attract fake sign-ups and self-referrals, and off-the-shelf affiliate tools add another vendor, another dashboard and tracking cookies.
What we built
- A permanent personal referral link and QR code for every customer and tradesperson
- A reward when the referred person's first job, booked and paid as a customer, is completed, plus milestone bonuses
- Fraud checks on device, phone number, one-time PIN, sign-up rate and self-referral
- Referral links that open the app on phones that have it, and the store on phones that don't
- An Earn screen in the app, a leaderboard, and full management in the admin portal
- Referral payouts on their own ledger, separate from tradesperson earnings
How it works
Everything runs on Skillteq's own stack, with no third-party affiliate service. Attribution is recorded server to server, with no cookies or tracking pixels. Rewards are written to a ledger when the qualifying event happens, and paid out through Paystack like tradesperson withdrawals.
