Vault Exporter for M-Files
Exports every file and every version from an M-Files vault, with the metadata each version had at the time.
The challenge
Moving off or archiving M-Files means taking every version of every document with you, with its metadata. The off-the-shelf exporter is licensed per company, with no clear terms for a service provider working across clients.
What we built
- Exports every version, the latest only, or a date range, with a metadata CSV per version
- Choose by object type and class, optionally including deleted objects, with no cap on results
- Connects to on-premises and M-Files Cloud vaults, with Microsoft sign-in and silent re-authentication for scheduled runs
- Test runs and dry runs report object counts and sizes before anything is exported
- Signed licences, usage reporting and automatic updates
How it works
A single Windows program reads the vault through the M-Files API and writes files plus a metadata CSV to disk. It never changes the vault. A Cloudflare service issues signed licences, records usage and delivers updates.
